Expert Learner

 

 

“Expert learners” are students who have become resourceful, strategic and goal-directed, and purposeful in their learning. They know how to sustain effort and can problem-solve around their own learning challenges. These are critical skills for any student with a reading or learning disability. Self-advocacy skills are critical for students with disabilities to succeed in post secondary settings. They need to learn these skills in the K-12 setting.

  • On your Standards Worksheet, under Instructional Design, what strategies can you use to support your student becoming an expert learner? Remember to look at the essential questions on the worksheet.
